WECONNECT, a unique, first-of-its-kind mobile application in Malaysia which facilitates shopping, business and trade (online and offline), today launched on the iTunes App Store for iPhone and Google Play Store for Android devices. Set to achieve a new threshold of smart trade and smart consumerism, WECONNECT is a groundbreaking project by MIG Group of Companies through its sister company, MIG Mobile Tech Berhad.
WECONNECT is a user-friendly platform that facilitates trade and transaction between consumer-to-consumer (C2C) sharing, Business-to-consumer (B2C) retail, Business-to-Business (B2B), Online to Offline (O2O) and also Factory to Consumer (F2C). Founded by multiple award-winning entrepreneurs, Dato’ Brian Wee and Dato’ Stanley Wong, WECONNECT provides a multi-dimensional digital platform for businesses and individual entrepreneurs to conduct their day-to-day business that mainly cater to end consumers. This is being done by integrating the best of online offline transaction, unified in one single app.
By connecting businesses and end consumers in a single ecosystem, WECONNECT promises to bring greater convenience and seamless rewarding shopping experience that blurs the line between in-store and online shopping. WECONNECT is not just a peer-to-peer marketplace; it has the potential to propel a paradigm shift in e-commerce with its new mobile app and a newly established way for both buyers and sellers to experience rewards, in which the term ‘Borderless Rewards System’ is coined.
With paying using your smartphone being the next big thing in retail shopping, WECONNECT unifies the consumers’ online (card) & offline (cash) payment methods into a single app, so that people can conveniently pay, and enjoy the same rewards from their loyalty membership, on top of additional benefits from WECONNECT. This means that no matter which card the consumer makes purchases with, or if they want to accumulate points with membership cards, WECONNECT does not take away any of those benefits, and instead, rewards vouchers for every transaction done over the app.
Vouchers can be used at any participating merchants, and are also exchangeable for tangible goods and services from the in-app redemption mall. This in turn drives foot-traffic to the participating merchant’s stores and encourages returning customers to spend in their store, even if the merchants’ do not have a CRM plan. On the part of the consumer, they will enjoy rewards and rebates even by engaging in non-purchase activities, for example; through first time sign-up, purchasing of vouchers, adding credit cards to WECONNECT account, referring a friend, sharing in-app ads on social media and more.

Speaking at the launch of WECONNECT, founder, Dato’ Brian Wee said, “With WECONNECT, we aim to change the business environment as a whole. The target downloads for the WECONNECT app is 1,000,000 users by the end of 2016. In an effort to achieve this, a campaign will be held to recruit WECONNECT brand ambassadors to drive downloads in public, where every participant will be encouraged by the brand ambassadors to engage in random acts of challenges and download the app into their smartphones in order to win prizes worth up to RM8.28 million.
Following its launch in Malaysia, WECONNECT will be launched in Singapore by the end of November this year. WECONNECT will continue to expand first beginning in ASEAN regions, and then gradually spreading across worldwide for opportunities to introduce its Borderless Rewards System, ultimately to empower smart and modern commerce for a stronger economy.
