Women seeks different parameters in jobs

Latest findings from recruitment firm Randstad said that female employees in Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia are the least satisfied with their current employers and at the same time are also the least likely to do anything about it. In its latest Workmonitor research report for Q1 2017, released today, the company said that even in the category of dissatisfaction, there are varying levels of discontentedness among the women in these three countries.

“Hong Kong women were found to be the least satisfied group of employees, with less than half (49 per cent ) being satisfied with their current jobs,” the report said.

Randstad Singapore, Hong Kong and Malaysia managing director Michael Smith said that the research shows that women have different requirements for their jobs in contrast to men, as women seek positive working environments, accessibility and a measure of flexibility from their employers.

“The gap between gender satisfaction with their roles reveals that there is still work to be done by employers to address their employer value proposition to properly suit the needs of their entire workforces. “As more and more organisations begin to understand the importance and benefits from taking their employer brand to the next level, we can expect to see this satisfaction gap decrease,” Smith said.

The Randstad Workmonitor Mobility Index tracks employee confidence and captures expectations and the likelihood of changing employers within six months. The company said that the study provides a comprehensive understanding of job market sentiments, employee trends, and measuring mobility.

“The quantitative study is conducted via an online questionnaire among a population aged 18-65, working a minimum of 24 hours a week in a paid job,” the company said in the statement.
