The Federal Agriculture Marketing Authority (FAMA) Terengganu has succeeded in so far grooming 248 entrepreneurs for the small-and-medium industry in the state in the past seven years. State director Hasan Jusoh said most of the entrepreneurs were involved in the food-and-beverage sector and seven among them had capital of over RM1 million.

Speaking to reporters, he said all the entrepreneurs under FAMA’s guidance could be considered successful, with sales last year estimated at over RM36 million.

According to Hasan, FAMA plans to groom four 1Malaysia Best Entrepreneurs in 2013. FAMA also plans to hold a carnival for primary industry produce in Kemaman.

Hasan said the objectives include introducing and promoting the produce of these local entrepreneurs, apart from serving as an avenue for them to widen their market.
