Dell today announced the appointment of Tang Ching Siang as the new managing director of Dell Malaysia. Mr. Tang succeeds Dato’ Simon Wong, who is retiring after 14 years with Dell.

As of 1 April 2012, Tang will hold dual roles as the managing director of Dell Malaysia leading Dell’s operations here and as vice president of Asia Pacific and Japan (APJ) commercial sales overseeing Dell’s customer experience and sales operations in the APJ region.

The responsibility of ensuring Dell’s growth as a leading solutions provider will now be held by Tang. Having joined Dell in 1996, Tang has held various functions in quality control, customer care program management, product development, manufacturing and as general manager for Dell’s Dalian, China facility.

Enhancing Dell Malaysia’s leadership as a sought-after employer, Dell has also appointed Mr. Shankar Nagalingam as its new human resource director for Malaysia, taking over from Mr. Phor Hooi Khoon who moves on to Dell China.
