HSIS takes on Oracle JD Edwards business portfolio in Singapore from S & I Systems;
In line with corporate strategy for expansion into SEA for its Enterprise Applications business
Hitachi Sunway Information Systems Sdn. Bhd (‘HSIS’), a leading IT services and solutions provider in Southeast Asia, today announces that the company has entered into an agreement with S & I Systems Pte. Ltd. (S & I Systems) to take over S & I Systems’ maintenance, development and service support of Oracle JD Edwards customers in Singapore.
The takeover of these activities for Oracle’s JD Edwards customer base in Singapore will be by HSIS’ Enterprise Applications division, as part of HSIS strategy to expand its Enterprise Applications business footprint into SEA.
Oracle JD Edwards, the business world’s leading comprehensive integrated suite of enterprise resource planning applications, is the core offering and specialization of HSIS’ Enterprise Applications business division.
Group CEO/Director of HSIS Cheah Kok Hoong shares that the collaboration agreement makes way for all existing Oracle JD Edwards customers in Singapore to be supported by a stronger and bigger resource.
“With HSIS, S & I Systems’ Oracle JD Edwards customer base in Singapore will have the support of eight times (8x) bigger resource in the team of application support specialists that HSIS has built up since 1991. We are therefore confident of providing better service and all post-sales customer support,” says Cheah.
CEO of S & I Systems Eric Sng shares, “Vice versa, by passing on the support and services role to HSIS, S & I Systems continued to focus on the JD Edwards systems infrastructure design and implementation in Singapore. This agreement with HSIS is definitely synergistic in terms of a win-win business situation for both companies.”

Eric adds that the migration for all S & I Systems existing Oracle JD Edwards customers to HSIS will also be seamless and is already ongoing.
HSIS Ramps up its Enterprise Applications Business
HSIS’ Enterprise Applications division is one of the few global elite teams who have achieved the quadruple specializations of Oracle JD Edwards applications in Financial, Manufacturing, Distribution and Configurable Network Computing.
“The Enterprise Applications business is no doubt very important for the HSIS group; thus moving forward you can expect that HSIS will continually boost up all effort to grow this line of business in other SEA markets particularly in Thailand,” ends Cheah.
Currently, Enterprise Applications contributes to over 20 per cent of HSIS annual revenues from Malaysia and around the region and is expected to continue in an upward trend over the next 12 months with increasing demand of business applications in enterprise corporations.
