Khazanah Nasional Bhd and Permodalan Nasional Bhd (PNB) will be asked to divest their non-core businesses to Bumiputera frims through an open tender process.

Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak said five companies from Khazanah and five from PNB had been identified so far for this purpose.

The two-hour meeting also decided to bring another 50 Bumiputera companies into the Teras programme spearheaded by the Bumiputera Agenda Steering Unit (Teraju), raising the number of Teras companies to 80 companies.

The companies had gone through the evaluation process and had been found to have the potential to grow.
