The Taiwan Expo 2018 in Malaysia, held at Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre, concluded on 27 October 2018, bringing a close to the second instalment of the event in Kuala Lumpur. The three-day event attracted more than 230,000 visitors and generated business opportunities of approximately NT$1.5 billion (US$48.38 million). The expo, co-organised by the Bureau of Foreign Trade and the Taiwan External Trade Development Council (TAITRA), brought to Malaysia six main highlights designed to showcase Taiwan’s lifestyle, leisure and the vision of high-quality living.

The expo focused on green technology, food and lifestyle, and the burgeoning halal trade. In particular, halal cosmetics and halal foodstuffs made from Taiwanese ingredients received a good response from traders and exhibitors. Business matching sessions were held throughout the event which connected Malaysian and Taiwanese businesses.
