Tenaga Nasional Bhd (TNB) has grabbed two gold awards at the 9th Global Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Summit and Awards and the Global Good Governance Awards 2017 held in Langkawi recently.

In a statement Sunday, the utility company said, the awards were the ‘Best Community Programme Award’ for companies with more than US$1 billion market capitalisation and the ‘Best Workplace Practices Award.

The ‘Best Community Programme Award’ was granted in recognition of TNB’s commitment and sponsorship in empowering hockey development in Malaysia, particularly among teenagers, it said.

The Global CSR Awards 2017  is Asia’s Most Prestigious Recognition Awards programme for Corporate Social Responsibility. The programme recognizes and honors companies for outstanding, innovative and world-class products, services, projects and programmes implemented in the past or present. These projects should demonstrate the company’s leadership, sincerity and on-going commitment in incorporating ethical values, compliance with legal requirements, and respect for individuals, communities and the environment in the way they do business.
